Grapes, Grit, and Determination
The MCV Journey
The MCV journey began in 2011 with three wine varietals: petite sirah, syrah, and grenache. By 2013, we had established four wine labels: Red, Pink, Rosewynn Vineyard Petite Sirah, and 1105. Initially, we produced our wines at Pacific Wine Services and stored our case goods at Nunno's. In the same year, we joined First Crush in Paso Robles and became part of the original Tin City wineries. However, in 2015, we made the decision to relocate our tasting room from Morro Bay to a new home in Morro Bay, California. This move allowed us to expand our wine club and host exclusive winemaker dinners. Although we cherished our time in Morro Bay, we recognized the need for our own winemaking facility and attached tasting room. This dream became a reality in October 2019.
While waiting for our new winery to be completed, we closed our Morro Bay location on December 31, 2019. In March 2020, we successfully moved our case goods storage, wine barrels, and winemaking equipment to our new facility in Paso Robles. Our grand opening took place on March 14, but our excitement was short-lived due to the Coronavirus shelter-in-place order, which forced us to close our doors just three days later. However, we quickly adapted to the situation by launching a Drive Through Wine Tasting station and offering popular "take home wine kits." These kits became a hit, prompting us to expand our offerings with At Home Wine Tasting Kits for virtual tasting guests. In order to accommodate outdoor tastings in compliance with the pandemic guidelines, we created private tasting cabanas.
MCV has undergone a remarkable transformation since our humble beginnings in Morro Bay, adapting and innovating despite the unpredictable nature of 2020. Our relocation to Paso Robles presented its share of obstacles, but it also brought fresh insights, partnerships, and exciting possibilities for our valued MCV guests. As we look ahead, our aspiration is to welcome both our loyal members and new visitors to experience our wines, indulge in delightful cheese pairings, embark on winery tours, savor exquisite meals in our barrel room, and witness firsthand the exhilarating energy of the MCV harvest.
